Group Openings

GRADUATE STUDENTS

There are currently openings for interested and motivated graduate students in the group. The multidisciplinary nature of the research pursued in the group provides exposure across diverse topics in the fields of inorganic, analytical, organic, and materials chemistry. The research projects are highly collaborative with opportunity to work with other researchers both at TCU as well as at other institutions. Prospective graduate students must apply and gain admission to the TCU graduate program. Information about the department PhD requirements are available here. Students accepted to the PhD program in Chemistry receive tuition, insurance benefits, and a competitive stipend. Prospective graduate students are encouraged to contact Dr. Sherman by email to discuss ongoing research projects in the group and for more information regarding the admission process.

POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS

Postdoctoral openings are contingent on external funding. No positions are currently available. Future openings will be posted here. Interested candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Sherman with a current CV for consideration when funding is available.

UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Undergraduate research opportunities are available on a semester to semester basis. Interested students should contact Dr. Sherman by email to inquire about open positions. Preference will be given to students who can commit at least two semesters of four to eight hours per week to independent research and have completed CHEM 10122 (General Chemistry II Lab) or CHEM 20123 (Quantitative Analysis; strongly preferred), CHEM 30121 (Organic Chemistry I Lab), and CHEM 30143 (Organic Qualitative Analysis). Preference will be given to students who show a keen interest in the research projects in the group and can articulate how an independent research project will help them toward their career goals post-graduation. Undergraduate research credit can only be given under a Department of Chemistry course number and may not satisfy degree requirements for non-chemistry majors.
